Truss Production WorkerSummaryUnder the direct supervision of the Truss Production Manager, engineered drawings are read and then used to build wood floor and roof trusses. This job functions in a fast-paced manner and requires accuracy and team work.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
- Operate heavy machinery to load bunks of lumber onto carts; then pushed into production shop
- Unload the cart in an organized fashion onto floor
- Pick up lumber from floor and place onto table according to engineered design.
- Staple wood components together
- Place the appropriate size of metal plates on the truss joints
- Operate truss press
- Must be able to read a tape measure
- Ability to analyze and problem solve
- Understanding of basic math skills
- Operate power tools and hand tools
- Operate heavy machinery
- Understanding and application of different types and sizes of lumber products
- Attention to detail is a must
- Good organization skills
